TV36 provides a wide variety of community based programs. Illustrative programs by topics, event and town include: Municipal Government Meetings: The City of Summit Common Council Meetings broadcast live, commencing at 8:00pm on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. The most recent Council Meeting is then rebroadcast on the subsequent Saturday at 10:00am. Board of Education Meetings: The Millburn Board Of Education recently taped and aired a Board Of Meeting on a trial basis. Fitness, Health and Finances: Overlook Hospital has been a perennial supporter of TV36, sponsoring a show entitled 30 Medical Minutes. Programs range from alternative healing and depression to cardiovascular fitness to breast cancer. Other programs discuss buying and selling a home, financial planning and long-term care insurance. Culture and the Arts: TV36 has extensive programming that addresses the culture and arts. Among the shows are “Forever Music” which is a music education show and “Arts & Humanities” which highlights various art initiatives throughout the viewing area such as an Anthony Quinn art exhibit. Also a “Human Mosaics” show highlights the Summit Public Schools and The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey. These shows are produced by M Soul Productions. Local Religious Services: On Sunday, the station’s viewers can see live and taped programs of local religious services from the different community houses of worship. One of our viewer benefits in broadcasting the Sunday Services is to bring the Sunday Spirit to those viewers who are unable to leave their home due to a physical ailment. Local School System Events: Local School System Events from the Summit and Millburn. The events range from theatre to concerts, from various programs at our schools to student productions. For the Summit Public Schools, TV 36 has aired various shows highlighting the schools various programs. These shows have been produced by Margaret Paslaru Sencovici of “M” Soul Productions. Community News: Major events in the station’s viewing towns are highlighted. For example, annually The Grand Summit Hotel hosts The Taste Of Summit which features a buffet of local restaurants for the evening. TV36 covers the event. Election Debates and Candidate Interviews: During past election years, TV36 has hosted debates in the autumn among respective candidates for both Summit and Millburn. These special events enable local citizens to make informed voting decisions. Municipal Sponsored Shows: Selectively, town governments have funded and sponsored TV36 shows including: Summit -- In addition to City Of Summit Council Meetings, Summit also sponsors: Summit -- The Summit Council Forum, Murph & The Mayor, Summit Is Special. Millburn -- Millburn View & Millburn's Board Of Education Springfield -- Speaking of Springfield. The station publicizes local community events on its community bulletin board during non-show broadcast hours.
